Sortie d’étude au Benin, Projet SEBA
Nous avons le plaisir de partager avec vous le déroulement de la sortie d’étude de la première cohorte du Certificat en épidémiologie moléculaire de la résistance aux antimicrobiens (RAM) approche one health et bioinformatique à l’Université d’Abomey Calavi au Benin du 26 mai au 16 juin 2023. Cette formation se déroule dans le cadre du projet SEBA « Strengthening Expertise and Bioinformatics to Control Antimicrobial Resistance in West Africa (SEBA) » dont l’objectif principal est de former les futurs experts sur la question de la RAM en Afrique de l’Ouest. En rappel, le projet SEBA est un consortium des universités partenaires du Burkina Faso, du Benin, de la Finlande et de la France qui ont obtenu un financement de l’Union Européenne (ERSAMUS+) dans le cadre de la lutte contre les résistances aux antimicrobiens-approche One Heallth et Bioinformatique.
Les participants à cette sortie scientifique étaient composés d’étudiants de l'Université Joseph KI-ZERBO et des encadreurs du Burkina Faso et du Benin (Enseignant-chercheur, Chercheur et Postdoctorats).
Tout au long de la formation, des cours théoriques, travaux pratiques en laboratoire et de sorties pédagogiques à Parakou ont enrichi cette expérience scientifique unique. Les modules abordés pendant ces trois semaines ont traité des mécanismes d'action et utilisation des antibiotiques, des enjeux politico-économiques et réglementations liés à la résistance aux antibiotiques, des techniques d'identification bactérienne sur le plan phénotypiques et génotypiques de la résistance des bactéries aux antibiotiques. Ils ont également pu approfondir leurs connaissances sur les nouvelles techniques de diagnostic liées à la résistance des microbes aux antimicrobiens.
Nous tenons à remercier les institutions impliquées, l’Université d'Abomey-Calavi qui a accueilli cette formation, tous les participants et les enseignants pour leur engagement la lutter contre la résistance aux antimicrobiens en Afrique de l'Ouest. Nous sommes convaincus que ces efforts collectifs contribueront à un avenir plus résilient face à ce défi majeur de santé publique.
